Pack Meetings
Due to a conflict with the Lutheran Church Council we have moved our meetings to the third Thursday of each month (September through May) in the back of Holy Cross Lutheran Church at 6:00.

Join Scout Night- September 8th, 2020
Our scouting year will kickoff on September 8th at the Lutheran Church with our Join Scout Night. We will need some help to run stations but existing scouts don't need to attend. They will automatically be signed back up unless they have told us otherwise.

The scouting year is about to take off. There will be a few changes this year due to the pandemic but we are planning on still having meetings as usual...kind of. The church council has decided to use both the upstairs and downstairs for their meetings which take place at the same time as our meetings so we have moved them to the third Thursday of the month. Our first meeting will be September 17th.
Another big change is we have decided to NOT sell popcorn this year. The committee decided instead to have a pork steak fundraiser. This will happen on October 28th. We will notify everyone when tickets are available. We may have them at join scout night but, if not, they will be handed out at the first pack meeting for sure.
We recently had a pack day at Splash Waterpark. Click here to see photos from this event.
We are building our first ever pack committee. We've had a few meetings so far and they well but we have a lot more to do. Anyone interested in being on this committee is welcome join. Just contact Jamie Wenske at 361-293-0276 for more info. The next meeting will be August 23rd at 5:00 in the St. Joseph Meeting Room which is on the east side of the St. Joseph Parish Hall. We normally meet every other month but are meeting monthly for now until we get the scout year running.
Here are a few helpful items for new parents:
All adults in scouting must take the BSA Youth Protection Training. You don't have to even be registered. Simply click on the link and create an account. Once you have completed the training, please give a copy of the certificate to the cubmaster for their records. For a user guide on getting to the training, click here.
Scoutbook is our pack management system. It is owned by the BSA and gives parents many tools for seeing what your child has done or needs to do. You can also receive communications and see our calendar there. You should receive an invite shortly after joining (we need you email to invite you) or if you already a BSA member you can simply login using your my.scouting.org info.
In this, you will see everything you need to get started with Scoutbook.
Uniforms are a big part of the scouting program. You can tell a lot about someone with their uniform. Getting started can be kind of confusing though if you are new to the program. We use 2 types of uniforms - Class A and B. Class A uniforms are used for formal events/meetings (like pack meetings). Class B's are tee shirts that are used for everything else. You can order your Class A's from Melvin's in Victoria or use the link above to get them from our council scout shop. Class B's will be ordered as a group at the beginning of the scouting year (sometimes in September).
