Spring Camporee- March 25-27
The Live Oak Spring Camporee will be held on March 25-27 at Camp Green Dickson. The District Pinewood Derby will be held that Saturday morning and the first ever District Raingutter Regatta will be after lunch. Bring your pinewood derby car to race in the morning and stay to build a boat out of a pool noodle and race it after lunch.
There are a lot of activities happening all year so check out our Events Page or Calendar for more dates and details.

This year of scouting is starting up and we have lots planned for the kids. After Join Scout Night (September 7th) our first pack meeting will be 2 days later on September 9th. The church has allowed us to go back to our regular meetings dates of the second Thursday of each month so that will start in September.
We will be having the pork steak fundraiser again this year on October 27th. We will be handing out tickets at the first pack meeting.
One of the largest achievements we made over the last year was forming our first ever pack committee. We meet at 5:00 in the St. Joseph Family Center Meeting Room on the 4th Sunday of each odd month (January, March, May, July, September, November). Anyone interested in being on this committee is welcome join. Just contact Jamie Wenske at 361-293-0276 for more info. Come help plan the future of scouting for your scout!
Here are a few helpful items for new parents:
All adults in scouting must take the BSA Youth Protection Training. You don't have to even be registered. Simply click on the link and create an account. Once you have completed the training, please give a copy of the certificate to the cubmaster for their records. For a user guide on getting to the training, click here.
Scoutbook is our pack management system. It is owned by the BSA and gives parents many tools for seeing what your child has done or needs to do. You can also receive communications and see our calendar there. You should receive an invite shortly after joining (we need you email to invite you) or if you already a BSA member you can simply login using your my.scouting.org info.
In this, you will see everything you need to get started with Scoutbook.
Uniforms are a big part of the scouting program. You can tell a lot about someone with their uniform. Getting started can be kind of confusing though if you are new to the program. We use 2 types of uniforms - Class A and B. Class A uniforms are used for formal events/meetings (like pack meetings). Class B's are tee shirts that are used for everything else. You can order your Class A's from Melvin's in Victoria or use the link above to get them from our council scout shop. Class B's will be ordered as a group at the beginning of the scouting year (sometimes in September).
